Rainbow Nails

Hello hello everyone! I just thought I'd do an update while my finger nails dry. I've been stressing so much over finals that I decided to paint my nails to myself feel better. My thumbs are pink sparkles, my pointer fingers are orange sparklies, my middle fingers are lemon, my ring fingers are light green, and my pinkies are teal! Take that boring one color! Haha, I love that something this simple has made me feel so much better. My finals are this week and I'm just drained, I can hardly think anymore!

On a better note, Donny might get his tattoo soon! He's saved up ( and has an awesome coupon ;] ) and is, most likely, going to get his first tattoo in a week or so. How exciting is that! I'm so proud of my boy. ♥ Also, my super nice earrings are coming in soon! I found out that Omerica Organic Body Jewelry had a half off sale a little while ago, and I POUNCED! I can't wait to get them, and I'll make sure to post a picture as soon as I can. ♥ HINT: They have owls on them. :D

Ahhh! Stress

I'm terribly terribly sorry for the lack of posting. I've been so wrapped up in the end of the year, I have so many papers to write in this week that I haven't had time to think of much else. I promise I have some posts in mind I'll probably put up later this week. Also, I hope to put up a lot more Lovebots in the next week or so.

Until then, I'm off to destress and watch Glee! This episode is Gaga crazy! Anyone else love Glee? I don't follow a lot of tv, but when I love a show I love it. Dexter, Bones, Glee. ♥

Hello hello! Happy Thursday everyone! I hope you all are looking forward to your day today! If not... cheer up! Have some ice cream, watch your favorite show, kiss your lover! There, feeling better? I sure thought so.

I'm really looking forward to my day today, even if it is super busy. Right now, I'm taking my time to get ready for school because we have a swim day today. And guess what. My bathing suit is still damp (OH AND YES cold) from when I washed it last night. I am not in any hurry to get that thing on, so I decided to blog instead. While I blog and check email Cupcake is insisting I pay tons of attention to her. (She's the cat in the picture above.) She's purring like crazy and rubbing herself all over my shirt, which is good that I'm still in pajamjams. I suppose she's just craving attention right now! haha, I love cats.

Anyway, my busy day will consist of: Swim Day with PE class (hopefully I won't suck at water polo), Trying to refuse Del Taco on our way back to school, Writing my final paper in one of my classes (yikes), Going to Joanne's (I can't make any more robots without stuffing D:), Then my grandparents (who leave for Pennsylvania soon), and then, hopefully, I'll have time to see Donny Bunny! What a mess, right?

Sewing is....

Fulfilling and rewarding, even if my Lovebots don't sell.

Completely natural for me, I feel like a fish in water.

And my form of meditation.

I realized today, while working on my first bib necklace, that sewing is a big stress reliever for me. It takes all of my attention, even to the point that I forget other people are in the same room (sorry Babe!). I have a lot of thing I enjoy such as clarinet, writing, reading, ect, but sewing is the only one that does this for me. It is the only thing that takes all of my attention is sewing. It clears my mind of everything.

This is something that is important in my life. I am a very stressful person by nature. I obsess over things that can't control, mostly because I can't control them. I rely so much on logic, when I'm upset, that I over rule anyone's thoughts but a professional in whatever I'm upset about. And although my obsessing has gotten better as I get older, it doesn't mean I've completely beaten it. I'm not sure I really ever will. Sometimes I just get upset. There isn't always a reason and those are the days I can't really beat it.

When those days happen, sewing is my best medicine. It takes my thoughts off of the pain I feel for no reason, or for a silly reason. Sewing is my meditation.

How do you deal with stress? Do you work out? Write? Sing your pain away? What is your mediation?

Goodbye Fast Food!

Donny and I have decided, as of right now, to try and quit fast food for a month! So as of tomorrow, May 17, 2010, no fast food until June 17, 2010. This means burger joints, pizza places, fake Mexican, no nothing! Also, I'm counted Starbucks, which is pretty high in sugar. So when Donny and I want to go out now, we're going to have to go to a restaurant or subway, which I don't really count as a fast food joint.

Even though I don't eat fast food very much, I think it would be interesting to see how we did in this experiment. His family eats fast food almost everyday, so I think it will probably be harder for Donny boy than for me. I hope to improve health-wise as well as save money, which ya know is the best part.

Here are the rules:
1. No Fast Food!
2. If fast food must be eaten, then the healthiest possible choice must be picked as well as a healthy drink choice.
3. Jaco has to remember to blog about this!

haha that last one is really so I remember. I don't want to forget about it like the Month of Fashion bit :] I hope to see how a lack of fast food affects my life and maybe even cut it out forever. I realize that eating fast food hardly ever makes me feel good about myself. Usually I just feel... well fat, to be honest. I feel full, but never really satisfied. I want to start making food for myself more often, which also gives a sense of fulfillment. ♥

Happy Happy Update!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful Sunday! I sure am! I'm spending my day with wonderful Donny! We've been busy busy beavers! We've taken pictures, gone skating, and also went swimming. :] Now, we're watching Bones while I update all my websites. Also, I updated a few things here! Now I have a button to my shop as well as a button to link to here. I'm working my way up, huh?

Yesterday, we went thrifting for a little while. :] I found some really amazing finds. ♥

This suitcase! It fits my skates so perfectly, and it was only 8 dollars! It's a pretty mustard yellow with polka dot lining. ♥

I found this jar and this pepper shaker! I have been needing a shaker for my glitter, like in the picture. And I couldn't pass up the beautiful jar, I knew it should be mine.

I also thrifted the belt I'm wearing and my shoes. ♥

Happy Weekend! ♥

Hello hello my wonderful lovelies! I hope you all feel better than I do. I'm battling a head cold, which has moved into my chest. If I had a video camera, I could let you hear how terribly I sound. hahaha As I wrote on facebook: "If a frog and a smoker had a baby, that baby would sound like I do today." My voice is so quiet and raspy I've just decided not to talk today! Hopefully no one calls, right? Riiiiight.

I've had a pretty good weekend so far. Yesterday was a good day, school was long but I was finally able to take the proofs of my yearbook pages home! I'm so proud of them I'm going to have to get them their own folder! Then after school, Donny and I went to a Japanese restaurant for dinner, which was better than I thought! We originally wanted to go to Applebee's or Red Robin but, of course, Friday is date night and they were super busy. After dinner we went to the community college to watch their production of Little Women the musical.

It was really amazing! I was unaware of how much talent lies in our hobunk town! All the actors could really belt it out and the pit did wonderfully. Also, I was so proud of Donny for the great stage! He's been working hard on it all semester with his stage craft production class and it was truly amazing. For example, there was a set that was supposed to be Jo's Attic and I didn't know the "wood planking" walls were muslin! I'm so proud of that boy. ♥

Well, I'm off to plan the new bib necklace I'm making! I'll post pictures as it comes along. ♥ Hopefully I'll get better soon.

Happy Tuesday!

Hello hello hello! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday! It was windy and a little bit chilly today, uuuh hello summer, we're waiting. Am I right?

Anyway, I had a good day. School feels longer and longer each day, probably because summer is so darn close. Yearbook used to be the highlight of my day, but now that it's all done I'm pretty apathetic about my days. I don't have that fun, fulfilling activity to occupy my time for the last month of school. Well, at least next year will be a blast. :] Sometimes I wish sewing at school wouldn't be so uber weird, so I could get more done. After school I went to Donny's house to lighten my spirits, the last week or so has been pretty difficult for me. Thankfully, he is amazing and always helps. ♥

Well, if you excuse me, I'm going to go finish Glee and dry my hair! I really hope I get enough sleep so my sore throat goes away and I can ace my AP English test tomorrow! Wish me luck!

It was brought to my attention by a friend that I hadn't talked further about my Month of Fashion. How absolutely silly of me! I completely forgot about it haha.

As some of you know, I spend a month without jeans and chucks. I used to wear jeans and a tshirt just about everyday, without much confidence. As I continued to ex out wearing jeans, I realized how much more I enjoy wearing skirts. I like the way I feel in a skirt and the scratchy-ness of jeans has become well... scratchy!

Now, even though the Month of Fashion is over, I still don't wear jeans very often. Today is one of the few times I have worn jeans since April! I know it's totally unlike me, riiiiight? I love it. I've become pretty fashionable now that I know how to be and that I can :]

What kind of clothes make you feel beautiful? Skirts? Jeans? Booty shorts? ;)

Happy Week(end)♥

Hello everyone :] I would like to thank all my family and friends for the beautiful birthday wishes, I feel so loved today! I received some very thoughtful gifts, including roller skates(!), some beautiful fabrics (thanks honey bee!), and a cute cardigan ;). School went very well, everyone was very sweet and I was sang to a couple times. I forgot how much I love birthdays, they're such a time of celebration and love. ♥ I really owe such a great day to all my friends, who were so very sweet today. :] I've been getting facebook love and texts since I got up at 6:40 am this morning. How absolutely sweet is that?

I celebrated my special day by going to school (lawlsauce how coool am I?), and then spending time with Alexis afterward! At school, I was sung to about 4 times by various amounts of people, embarrassed during P.E. AND was told "Happy Birthday" by underclassmen who totally don't know me. :] I freaking love birthdays! It's such a fun time. Alexis and I went skating, okay she was on a bike, BUT I am not totally fail at skating! I only fell once and it wasn't like a terrible one :] I'm going to be totally pro soon, you just wait! ♥

My celebrations are not over, yippee. Because today I go to my dad's house to spend time with them and celebrate mother's day. :] I hope to have time to blog but I can't promise anything :]

Body Image

I know I'm not alone when I say I see problems with my physical appearance. I know I'm not alone when I say I wish I had the perfect body. I also know, I'm not alone when I say I feel like I am alone in this.

Body image is such a touchy subject. Everyone has imperfections and everyone thinks their problems are so much worse than they ever are. I, for example, think I am much more overweight than I am in reality. I have a skinny friend who thinks she's overweight, I think it's terrible that we all think we're so imperfect. If I could help the younger generations at all, I would tell him that everyone is beautiful. Skinny girls, over weight girls, in between girls, everyone is really quiet beautiful. I wish more people saw that, I also wish people would embrace uniqueness more. The girls who are average middle school or high school often turn into the really gorgeous girls, especially because they are humble. I wish I could spread self-love to the younger girls.

I know I'm not the only one who has "ugly" days. Ya know, those days where you feel just... blah. On those days, I try to up my spirits with a little make over. I redo my finger nails, shave my legs, maybe wear a pretty dress. My favorite is painting my finger nails, which I think I'm going to go do right now! ♥
