Cat Paintings

Hello everyone! I cannot even tell you how busy I have been this week. I'm happy to announce I officially work at Fry's Electronics in Las Vegas, Nevada! I didn't want to tell too early because I hadn't gotten the absolutely official call yet. This whole week I had orientation and next week is my real first week of work. I really love it. I'm a cashier and I love everything about it, it really is fun to me.

I've also been super busy with my water coloring. My sewing is a bit on the back burner because I don't have a desk and our room isn't bright enough for comfortable hand sewing. I promise I'll get back to it soon, I also want some inspiration first.

Back to my watercoloring, I've found my new calling is drawing cats.

Photobucket
First I drew my cat, Muffin.

Weird picture of her, but it's the best one I have of her whole face.

Then I drew this silly cat I found on tumblr.

Then this funny cat meme.

And then this cute kitten.

I seriously just love cats. I know I'm a little nuts but I love cats.

And for my dad's birthday earlier this month, I sent him this piece I really put my heart into.
Photobucket
Each one of the roses has a name of a family member, he sent me this picture of it framed. :)

I hope everyone else has had as good of a week as I have! I can't wait to show you more I've made and share some funny stories from work.

Love and Turtledoves,
Jacqueline

P.S. Artist friends, what do you do with all your pieces? I feel like I'd rather them have a purpose than just sit in a book... what do you do with your extra pieces you love but don't wanna hang up yourself?

I hate to brag, but...

I have the sweetest Mister.

Allow me to explain:
Today William and I went out to get his hair cut and it left him looking quite foxy, I really wish I would have taken a picture of him before he went off to work today. He's also got on a new pair of H&M dress slacks he bought yesterday and they are quite dashing.

After we stopped and grabbed quick lunch, we stopped at Blick's Art Materials. It was like an artist's meca! I was totally in aw. They had everything any artist could ever need.

After I had read one of Katia's posts a while back about Prismacolor markers I knew I needed them. So as soon as we walked into Blick's I headed straight for the marker stand and was amazed at all the colors.
It is then that my lovely Mister jumped to my rescue. He bought me a black Prismacolor because I had been using horrible Sharpies that would rub away with the pencil marks. Isn't that sweet?
Okay maybe this doesn't quite make sense. Prismacolor markers are four dollars a pop! So it truly was a sweet thing for William to get me one.

After a lot of 'oohing' and 'awwwing' he also bought me a new watercolor pad, because I used up the one my parents gave me for Christmas, and a new eraser pen.
I swear he is the sweetest.

So naturally after he left for work I starting drawing and painting to my hearts content.

I'm so grateful to have such a loving, kind man.

P.S. I redid my blog a bit! What do you think? :)

Rose Quartz and New Opportunities

I have some wonderful wonderful news, my lovely blogging internet friends! Everything is going so well lately. William and I are getting into a routine and are the happiest we've been in so long. Sometimes it still doesn't hit me that this happiness is my life and I'm not going to leave any time son. On his days off we go out for the day and spend time together. Usually it's just to go to the store but sometimes we hang out with our friends Alexandru and Maria too!

On the even better side, I am employed! I've been trying for about two weeks to apply to as many places as I physically can and had even scored two interviews. Thankfully I only had to go to one because I landed the job! I promise I'll tell you where as soon as I start, I'm really so excited.
William is also looking at a new job opportunity that we are really crossing our fingers for, so please keep us in your hopeful thoughts.

I even bought some really beautiful light pink plugs so I don't break dress code.

I like them because they match my skin way better than a pair of those nasty "flesh colored" silicon ones ever do. I think they're rose quartz, because I know they're not acrylic and the lady at the stand said they are jade... which is nuts haha. I really love them.

I also bought some new nose rings yesterday but those are more hit and miss. For some reason, if I don't like my septum ring it really hurts my self esteem. So I'm going to look hard and find something I actually love.

I'm just so happy lately, I feel so content and loved. I made fish stick tacos for our little family today and they were an absolute hit. His family was thanking me waaaaay more than I expected haha! I can't wait to make them again, maybe even share the super easy recipe. ;)

Jacqueline

P.S. Did you hear that we can reply on individual blog comments now? I can't wait to reply to all you guys!

Painting Obsession

As a few of you know, I have been painting a lot the last few weeks and I thought I'd share all I've done!

I really love geometrical flowers but I think I need a compas and a ruler to help me out with them.

An ode to my obsession with pugs.

I drew this for William and hung it up today. A little memorial of a dear friend.

Two Opposite Lovebots

Right before I moved I had two very fun custom order Lovebots. I cannot believe I forgot to share them with you, they were so fun.

First I did this lovely little lady for Dani of The Daily Dani . She wanted a girly Lovebot with an orange, pink, and yellow color scheme. So I gave her this:

I had so much fun making the little pleated skirt. I was going for a little pink pinafore with a yellow under dress. I think she's swell.

Next I was contacted by Brittany, a friend who I went to high school with, for a goth Lovebot.

She named him Lord Dante Thaddeus Grey and was even nice enough to write an entire post about him! She's the sweetest.

Thank you so much Dani and Brittany! I had the best time making your Lovebots. Custom orders are truly my favorite, especially ones like this where I have a ton of creative freedom.

If you want order a custom Lovebot feel free to email me at the email on the right or convo me at my etsy shop!

Tiny Update

I just thought I'd pop in and tell everyone I'm doing swimmingly in my move. William and I are so much more content now that we are together. We are fitting like a glove, minus the fact that I still haven't found space for everything! Our room is plenty big but the wall space is minimal so there isn't much room for the millions of nick knacks I have.

I am currently working hard at finding myself a job. I'm applying like crazy and crossing my fingers for the best. I'd like to be able to dress how I do at work but I am honestly not going to be picky. We get by just fine now but having an extra income will really help us feel more comfortable.

I hate to admit that lately I've been super boring, so I have to think of things to post about. I painted something extra special this week that I can't wait to share, but it's a surprise for someone so I have to wait! I can't wait to post it.

Love and Turtledoves,
Jacqueline

P.S. I finally dyed my hair again! It's nice to not have three inch roots. *and trimmed bangs :3*

Leopard Cravings

Happy New Year! For our special last day of 2011, William and went out for sushi at Yama Sushi. It was absolutely amazing! I had a california roll and a tuna roll, he had a spicy tuna roll and an eel roll. I have to admit, his were better than mine! Just talking about the spicy tuna roll is making me crave it.

Photobucket
I wore:
The Kills shirt given to me by Ashley.
Jeans from Ross
Red Toms *not pictured*
and leopard coat from William as a Christmas present!

We were back home by nine and fell asleep watching tv at approximately 12:20 am. We're not a very lively bunch haha. Dumb of me, we didn't take any pictures. Except I took this one before bed.

I tried to get William in it but the lights were out and he was asleep.

Yesterday was his day off so we went all around town getting things for our room. I needed a new laundry basket and hangers, just little things. He was also a very sweet man and bought me this beautiful ring.
Photobucket
He is the kindest fella.

Today I started the Getting a Job project. Wish me luck!
Love and Turtledoves,
Jacqueline

P.S. Here's another nesting doll for the road.
