Animal Flowers

I mentioned in my last post that I am heading towards drawing more and less in painting. About a week before my 20th birthday, right I'm no longer a teen(ha!), I bought myself a new drawing journal. I wanted to start new and only draw real things in it, no dumb doodles. Here are a few drawings I've created in my silence.

I love this one, it has gold accents and a bit of a gold mistake on a pedal.

I drew this for my mom for Mother's Day and I was so happy with how well the dog came out. The picture is in progress but it came out very well.

These two I have been drawing at home on my days off and in the car during my lunches at work.

Hope you love it!

Words that haven't been said

So I've come to the realization that I am an awful blogger and it will probably take a shit ton of training to make me a good one. I'm going to have to take this more seriously and put more thought into it, because truthfully I let this sit for way too long. I used to post all the time, way back in the day, but now it's so rare it feels fake. That's going to change (how many times have I said that).

In my absence William and I have moved to southern california, home home home at last. Our apartment is tiny in comparison to our Las Vegas one, yet somehow it has more heart. It feels right to be here, and we are so much happier. Even the cats seem a little happier, they're awake more often in the day and demand more snugs and attention. As a whole we are a happy family.

I've been away from my art a little bit but I'm hoping once my schedule gets more consistant that I'll be able to focus on it more. Right now I'm drawing a lot because it takes much less set up and clean up than painting or sewing.

I feel whole once again.

P.S. Although I do miss my washer/dryer ;)

This move is starting a brew in my mind that I dread. Ever since I was young change has brought back my depression that brings me low low low. I can feel it coming back. Leaving work has left me not caring so much, which is pretty bad too. But when I'm alone I can feel that slow creep of loneliness that hasn't been around in a while.

It's mostly at night when I'm waiting to get William from work. It creeps up my heart until I feel anchored to the spot. It doesn't leave until I wake up tomorrow morning, sometimes not even then.

I can't wait to move and be settled, then it'll leave.

The Trek Across a State

This month is a stressful one. We are taking on the difficult task of moving from cheap but not so great Nevada to expensive but heart warming California. We are determined to move April 30 and I swear I'm going to be heartbroken if it doesn't happen. I miss the way I feel when I'm home and around my family all the time. I want William to know that love. There is nothing I want more than for my little family with William and our cats to become a big family with my parents and siblings.

I want to go to school to learn how to be an amazing artist. I want to know about different kinds of art, different artists, and different techniques. I want to meet other artists and grow from them. I have creative friends that I adore but I want someone who gets the need to create for a living.

Truthfully I miss my friends so much. I miss my family. I miss California and how comfortable it feels there.

Love,
Jacqueline

Want, Need, Gift three

Oops so I missed last weeks WNG! Sorry sorry, I'm not a very good blogger anymore.

Want:

This Illusion Ponte Bodycon Dress from Wet Seal. Although truthfully I don't know how well it would fit or look on me, I just love the mesh.
Need:
Ro'sArgan body Conditioner by Lush. It's like lotion in the shower and smells perfectly like roses, and no not like crazy heavy old lady perfume but like you rubbed yourself with roses all over. I love this stuff but at $30 a tub I haven't bought it in a good while.

Also if you've never been to a Lush you need to find your nearest and get your batooty over there. It's a cosmetic HEAVEN.

Gift:

I really want to get William the Die Hard collection cuz he wants it so damn bad. We'll see what the Valentine's Day fairy will bring!

Want, Need, Gift two

This week, I need:

A new nose ring. I'll settle for a titanium retainer (1) but I'd really love to buy a nice clicker from Industrial Strength (2). Both of these are pictured from Body Art Forms but are made by Industrial Strength. And I say I need a new nose ring because I'm down to two very bad quality ones and that just won't do.

I Want:

These absolutely stunning Goldstone teardrop plugs with lab made opal inlays made by Heartonsleevejewelry. Drool worthy amirite?

I wish I could Gift:

Every time I see these Pear cut navel bars I think of Ashley. I don't know what she'd like but in my head I'd get her the Citrine one on the right and have it anodized *which means have the titanium turned a color* ice blue or fuchsia. These navel bars are made by Anatometal and the picture is from Body Art Forms.

Well I guess this week turned into a body jewelry Want, Need, Gift. I hope you liked it!

Liebster Award

Yesterday I came home from work to find Taylor of A Typical Taylor has given me a Liebster award. From what I understand it's a cute blogging way to bring attention to small blogs, so it's totally cool! Here are the rules:

1. List 11 facts about yourself

2. Answer the 11 questions the blogger who nominated you left

3. Ask 11 questions for those you nominate

4. Choose 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers to nominate

5. Go to each blogger's page and let them know about the award

6. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog

Facts:

1. I am a bathoholic. On my days off I like to take a bath early and read, maybe enjoy a Lush bomb and then when I have to go out later I'll take a shower and actually get ready for my day.

2. I currently have 6 piercings. 3 in my ear, 1 in my face, and 2 body piercings. I'm planning to get another body piercing this year and if I had a better job I'd get my nostrils pierced too.

3. Almost all the cats I've ever had have been named after food stuffs. Muffin, Cupcake, Oreo, and Strudle.

4. My favorite video game system is the N64. My favorite game series' are The Legend of Zelda, Little Big Planet, and Paper Mario.

5. Unlike most other 19 year olds (nearly 20 year olds) I don't really like to drink, I hardly party, and I truly like being at home alone.

6. My favorite book series are Thomas Harris' books: Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal and Hannibal Rising. They're awful and amazing at the same time, I've read them twice so far.

7. I'm awful at remembering to dye my hair, pluck my eyebrows, and paint my nails.

8. My ideal day is a day of sewing/painting/drawing followed by a yummy dinner with my love and cuddling up to sleep with him and Muffin. We're a snuggly house.

9. I don't like loud noises. I hate the vacuum, the washer, the dryer, etc etc. It's just such an annoyance that usually when I do the wash I go into the other room and try to ignore it as much as possible.

10. My love for body modification is new but passionate. I want to be the person I feel like I am inside. I love every type of modification: tattoos, piercings, scarification, branding, implants, transdermals you name it.

11. The old I become the more socially anxious I am. After working 40 hours a week around too many people I just stay home on my days off.

Questions:

1. What is your most prized possession?
My most prized possession I'd say would be my Macbook. It's my business tool, my entertainment, my liiiiffeeee.
2. Describe the moment you finally felt alive.
I don't think it's just one day for me. I think it's this last year. I moved to another state, got a job, got an apartment, and have become an adult.
3. If you could run away tomorrow to anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
I'd take my man and we'd run home to California. Family is everything.
4. Which song best describes your life currently?
I can't lie I have no fucking clue.
5. Who would you like to play you in a movie?
Kristin Ritter. She is a foxy bitch.
6. Have you ever pretended to be someone you weren't?
Yes all the time. I pretend all the time that I enjoy being wherever I am and yet I'd rather not be there.
7. Who is your favorite person in the entire world?
Although it's hella cheesy my favorite person is William. He's so strong and kind and such a great part of my life.
8. If you could tame a wild animal into being domestic, which one would it be?
I wouldn't.
9. Who do you think you might have been in a past life?
Emily Dickinson, but she was a much better writer.
10. What do you have to look forward to?
Another piercing William is getting me for Valentine's Day, moving back to California, going back to college, getting a new job.
11. Which words mean the most to you?
Thank you.

My questions for others:

1. If you could look different in anyway, even if impossible, what would you look like?
2. How do express your creativity?
3. What makes you uncomfortable?
4. What is your passion?
5. Any hidden talents?
6. If money was no issue what would you do with your life?
7. What outfit makes you feel best about yourself?
8. Who are you closest to?
9. To Procreate or not to Procreate?
10. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?
11.Who do you miss the most in the world?

Nominees:

Meredith of Sincerly, Me
Laura of Delicate Gypsy

Thanks again Taylor this was totally fun!

Want, Need, Gift

I've thought that while everyone does cute lists of things they love on the internet, I'd add my own lists with a touch for a friend. I'll list two things I Want & Need as well as something I saw for something who is close to me. Fun right!

Want:
Red pull on Jeggings from Wet Seal.

Need:

A new skirt for work from H&M. They're only six dollars!
*Side note: I wouldn't mind that top too much either!*

Gift:

I saw this on Fred Flare this morning and instantly thought of my tattoo artist, Alex! She loves domos and this is just the cutest.

I hope you like my new feature!

My 1st Fuzzybot to a 1st Birthday

While living in Vegas, can you believe I've been here a whole year(!) WOAH, I have gained a few close friends. One of them is a lovely lady I work with named Liz, she's bossy and funny and I love her for it. She has a little man named Arix who turned one on Sunday and I created a brand new Lovebot just for his sweet face.

I had a ton of fun working on this guy. Minus the fur all over my desk YIKES! I didn't have a straight razor so I had to use scissors, next time it'll be a straight razor because it will only cut the backing of the fur. He was super cute and soft and I loved him so much I almost wanted to keep him. Almost.

A Tiny Bot is the Road to a Woman's Heart

One of my favorite things about my tiny shop is the way people use my creations. Many of my dolls have been presents, one has sat at a wedding for an out of country friend, and now I have sold a customer Lovebot for a proposal.

When I was contacted about this sweet order I jumped on it right away, they contacted me saying they wanted the same Lovebot I have pictured for my Customer Nerdbot, but smaller. After some measuring, I made a sweet 10" Nerdbot!

He's pretty cute if I say so myself!
