Remember these?

I know some time ago I posted these:

But today, I found the artist behind the adorable! I'm so so happy to have found it, because I want to buy a few prints of them. Her name is Gemma and here is her flickr, website, and etsy!

I definitely want this one. Smitten Kittens? That's like Muffin's main nickname.

This one reminds me of Dani Hampton :)

Just remember... everyone

Jaco :)

P.S. Omg I know I'm such a fan girl, HOWEVER her blog of just kitty drawings is amazing. Right here!

What's new?

So sorry for my lack of blogging, I've been super busy lately! School started up on Monday and the change of schedule has messed with my brain a little bit. I'm waiting to get used waking up at 7 and coming home at 3, everyday. New time frames has always messed with my mind a little bit. Also, I reconnected with a good friend and it seems to be going well. :) I think we both have matured over summer and things seem to be awesome.

Other than that I've been hard at work with some orders for Lovebots. My grandma adored hers and so did my aunt, which ya know is the entire reason I do it. Seeing smiling faces when they unwrap a Lovebot is just priceless. ♥ My niece's tears of joy at her birthday have been the best reaction so far, though. That's the only thing I miss when I sell online. I don't get the reaction unless they leave great feedback. Oh well, I can just image :)

I'm really trying to get back into blogging while still fighting my funk. The change in schedule, as well as other things, have make me a lot less productive. I'm trying really hard to think back in the blogging mindset, and promise to get there soon. :)

I'd love to know what you guys have been up to :)
Love and Turtledoves,
Jaco

P.S. I'd like to report I have the best boyfriend ever ♥ He's super sweet and bought me the most awesome sterling silver kitten ring. I promise to show it off when it comes!

P.S.S. I also, finally, ordered one of Kaylah's zipper pouches!!! I am so excited, I love to support other small businesses.

To close a sad sad door.

Tonight was the memorial service for a wonderful boy who attended my school. Since his death I have been unmotivated and sluggish in my blogging, working, and other all interneting. I'm so sorry for this absence, I promise to get back on it. ♥

A few little looks

I just wanted to share two new Lovebots I made recently. :)

Lenny Luckybot, a gift to my aunt who is very proud to be Irish.

And Petey Pandabot, an order from a girl in my class.

I am thinking about making another Pandabot for the shop, whaddyea think? ;)

Complete creative funk.

I apologize for my blogging and all around creative funk. I promise I'll be back to normal soon and blogging like normal soon. I have been working on Lovebots, I just don't have much motivation lately. I thrive with a schedule, and since school has been stopped for a while, and will be better once school starts next week.

Here are some cats to make my funk seem a little less funk-y.

weheartit for all 3.

Goodbye Summer!

weheartit, because Donny and I still haven't gone to the beach this year.

Slowly but steadily, my last "summer vacation" slips away from me. Next year everything will be new and different. This has been a wonderful last summer, lots of time with family, friends, and my sewing machine. My business has grown into my little baby these last few months, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Although I am sad to see my summer go by, I look to the future for comfort. The ability to start to support myself, I know I won't be "independent" for a while (I'll definitely still need my wonderful parents.), has been something I have always wanted. Literally, it's been something I have constantly wanted. I have never been the type to want to stay home and live with my family. I adore them all so much, but I'm the independent type. :)

I've very happy to report that, if Donny and I can afford an apartment with pets, we should be taking Muffin when we move. hehe! I have a hard time thinking a home is a place without a cat or a dog, so I was pretty over joyed when my mom said I could take her. I go Muffin when I was 7, so although she is a grouchy old woman, she's a little part of my family. ♥ Donny promised we can take her, so that's that right?! :)

In more recent news, Elsie of A Beautiful Mess is doing a 4 Simple Goals Challenge that I'm interested in. However, I only have one goal so far. I want to ACTUALLY loose weight so that 1. I can be a little more happy with my body and 2. So I can look better for my beeeautiful sister's wedding. She's the sweetest thing and asked me to be in her wedding, so I gotta look HOT the day after I turn 18 (which is her wedding day). I'm going to have to ponder on my other 3 goals, I'm just not sure yet.

Are any of you doing her 4 Simple Goals Challenge? I'd LOVE to know what they are ♥.

Wonderful day!

Hello, hello everyone! So sorry I haven't been blogging. I've been very busy ending my summer on a good note. I've been spending time with my Dad and Kathy, going shopping with my mom, and trying to fit sewing and everything else in between! I go back to school on the 23rd, and I'm ready but not willing. This is my last "summer" ya know, sleep in constantly and bum around. Next summer I get a job, move out to my dad's then to my apartment with Donny ♥, and start a new life.

Today, my mom and I went to Nordstrom to get a few things. I ended up buying some new MAC lipstick in Vegas Volt which is a coral pink/orange but very muted and a very thin chestnut leather belt. ♥ To end my constant search of a perfect handbag, I decided to purchase THE perfect handbag.

Behold. The perfect bag.
I ordered a 15" leather satchel from Cambridge Satchel Company in chestnut. It should be great for the Macbook I'll get later this year :). Ashley bought the same bag in yellow, which is
DARLING. Mine doesn't have a top handle like the picture, which I found from Reto To Go.

What is your perfect bag? Designer? Target? Those cute reusable shopping bags? ( I LOVE my Barnes and Noble one. )

Hopeful thinking

*unknown, leave a comment if you know and I'll properly link this baby*

Everyday I am more thankful for the wonderful life I am blessed with. I have a wonderful family who supports me no matter what, even when they don't agree with what I want. My final year of high school is beginning very soon and I am looking forward to ending this great time in my life.

High school has neither been absolutely wonderful or outrageously terrible. I've met some wonderful people and grown up so much over these years. I am ready to end this time of my life and walk towards a new phase. My adult years are truly beginning, something I've waited for since I was a tween.

I have always looked forward to true independence in the form of adulthood. Not in the way that I can do whatever I want, I've never been that sort of girl. I've never been terribly rebellious, although I am a free thinker. I want adulthood so I can be independent. I know I won't be for a few years, but I will be as much as I can as soon as I can.

I mostly look forward to organizing and taking care of myself. Sure, Donny and I are moving in together, but we are not going to be "taking care" of each other. We understand we need to take care of ourselves first and each other second. For a while, we'll simply be living together and loving each other. The taking care of one another comes later, when we are stable in our new lives.

I also look forward to my sister's wedding, which is the day after my 18th birthday. So I will be in Hawaii and with one whole side of my family. :)

Thinking of the future is what truly makes me happy. I love my current life, but knowing it is pulling me toward better things is a constant companion. The future I have been working for for so very long, is suddenly near. I simply cannot wait to see what life throws my way.

Jaco

Good evening!

Tonight I'm hard at work on a new blog layout. I loved the floral, but I think it was starting to get too crowded. I redid the shop banner this week as well and have been itching to redo this as well. :) So please excuse random changes in appearance, I'll been tweaking it for a few days.

I've had a very eventful week so far! Yesterday I went shopping with my mom and bought.... jeans. dun dun duuuunnn... Crazy I know. However, my school has a dress code and none of my shorts are allowed. I bought a nice pair of blue, straight leg jeans and I cannot wait to show you all. I a lot better in them then I used to feel in jeans.

Also, Donny and I saw Inception today. My mind was blown, I highly recommend it. It was the best movie I've seen since Shutter Island (way to go Leo!). ♥

What have you guys done lately? Tomorrow I go to Disneyland! :D

I love this

How to befriend an introvert.

1. If you must drag them to a party, please don’t abandon them. Don’t go rushing off to catch up with your other friends without including the introvert; the inny will die in a corner.

2. If they actually call and want to talk, listen! These moments may not come often, since Innies usually work out their problems within their own brains, but that does not mean they are all Bella Swan “suffer in silence” types.

3. Realize that they do want to be alone sometimes. They may have gone to that party, and even enjoyed it, but they burn out faster than you and need time to recharge alone. The assumption that all introverts are shy really bugs me. This is not always the case. They can be charming, tell jokes, and generally be the life of the party…but for a limited time only.

4. Skip the small talk. Introverts are reflective beings and enjoy conversations about feelings and debating things like the ontological argument, and whatever interests they have. They can only tolerate chitchat with people they just met or haven’t seen for awhile. If you must tell them your entire jam-packed weekend in detail, check your inny friend for signs of consciousness periodically.

5. Introverts don’t hate people. They just find them tiring.

6. Introverts are socially aware. Yes, we are well-versed in social nuances, customs, and mannerisms; we just don’t implement them as frequently as extroverts do.

I first saw this on Kaylah's tumblr but it's from here. I love a good article about introverts. Every time I try to explain to someone I am an introvert, they automatically disagree and seem to think introvert means shy or unsociable. It just means we like time to think. :)

This article, Introverts Unit! Quietly... is another great look into the introvert. I love these kind of articles. ♥

Have a wonderful Saturday! I'm off to make another string of bunting for my room. :)

Jaco

A few new favorites

#1.
Revlon Just Bitten lip stain. I bought mine in passion and it's a great hot pink and is almost red-ish. One side is the lip stain, in a felt tip like a marker, and the other side is a lip balm. It doesn't go on as well as my Pixie lip blush in love (orange red) but the lip balm is a plus, since both lip stains are drying. (I use plain chap stick over the Pixie one.) Great products, either way.

But caution, for the Revlon one, remember not to pull the lip balm's cap off sideways... it breaks the lip balm... I totally did this today and I bought the thing yesterday. -__-

I've started wearing light eye makeup, like mascara and nude eye shadow, and bright lipstick because of this post of Keiko's. I realized how comfortable it is to trade up eye makeup for bright lips in the hot summer.

#2.
This dress by Dig for Victory. I am really considering getting this one, or one of the ones like it, for my homecoming in January. I'd have to make Donny a matching tie again...

#3.
Simply Orange Lemonade. Oh my God this is literally the best juice ever. I love it in normal lemonade and also in raspberry lemonade, which I am currently sipping. :)

#4.
Revlon nail polish. It goes on really well and dries really quickly. I have it in Minted (MY FAVE), Gum drop (lilac), and mango something. :) Gum drop and Mango-something both are scented, which is awesome. Gum drop smells like cotton candy and Mango-something smells like apricots for a few hours after drying.

#5.
U by kotex. Sorry my male readers, but I have to rave a little about these new tampons. They are compact but open up to a full sized applicator, but more sturdy than their previous design (they don't come apart). Awesome design and fun colors :) They come in lime green, yellow, hot pink, and teal. I'm in love.

#6.
M A C's paint pot in bare study. It's a nude cream eyeshadow with a shimmer. It keeps my eyeshadow in place as well as my eyeliner. If I use cheaper eye makeup, they crease up by the middle of the day. Now that I use the paint pot and better eyeshadow, my makeup stays just about all day!#7.
My wonderful family and friends. I really appreciate all of you, you're my best support group ever. <3 I love you all so much. Also, I'd appreciate all of you, my lovely readers. Commenters and non-commenters a like, I adore all of you.
Have a wonderful weekend
♥ Love and Turtledoves, Jaco

We all grow like trees.

Lately I have been thinking a lot about change. I used to be very rigid when it came to change, and in truth it still messes with my anxiety problem. However, as I grow older, I am learning to accept and even enjoy change. Change in every form is good in some way or another. People grow individually, as a culture, as a family, as a whole.

Change has been on my mind because this year as done a lot to me. I realized that, even though I thought 17 was just a number that meant nothing (much like 15 actually was), I grew from an adolescent to an adult this year. I am beginning to know who I am and who I am not. This is what this great year has taught me.

Recently I have ended two friendships that I had for many years. Although, at some point, these friendships were very important to me and that has changed. I have changed and so have the two girls I speak of. And that is wonderful. I never want to be the same person for very long, I strive to constantly grow. I hope to constantly become a better person.

I apologize for the change in posting today, it was all I had on my mind. A tragedy struck my school today... so please send your positive energy, prayers, or whatever you believe in their way.

Tomorrow will be better.

Jaco

A few more in the shop!

Today I had a little update on the shop, there are now 9 Lovebots in need of loving homes. :) One more than that is reserved for Korey, who has been working with me for a custom Lovebot. (I hope she loves it!) I am loving having my own business more day after day. I'm not very popular, but the sales I make mean a lot to me. Thank you everyone who shows interest, it's very kind :)

This is Theodore :) He needs a new home.

Next I'll be working on a panda Lovebot for a girl at my school who wants it. Maybe if I like it enough I'll make another and sell it in the shop, whaddyea think?

Now, I'm off to go spend time with Donny. We are getting pictures taken of us today by a friend of his. We hardly have any pictures of us anymore so we're really excited :) I'll post some as soon as I can!

Love and Turtledoves,
Jaco
