Body Modifications

When I was about twelve or thirteen I really started to get into the body modification scene, although couldn't participate at the time. I wasn't allowed to pierce my ears until I was ten and then a second time when I was sixteen. But between twelve and eighteen my love for body mods has grown tremendously.

First it started with a love of tattoos. I used to watch Miami Ink constantly, yes I know a little embarassing since it turned into such a dramatic show, and fell in love with Kat von D. After a while I grew tired of her too and fell in love with traditional tattoo "old school" style. I love that it's usually just reds, yellows, blues, and sometimes greens. The outlining is usually thicker, and there is just a certain style that things are drawn. Not quite cartoony but not realistic either.

Around fifteen my fondness for piercings started to grow. At the time I had a boyfriend with gauged ears and that sparked my interest in doing my own. At first I just liked the tiny tiny ones, then the next size and the next size and now I'm a 00g, which is about the size of the tip of my pinky. I love my plugs more than any other jewelry I've ever worn. I never used to remember to wear earrings and now I do constantly. Right now I'm happy with the size of my earrings and have even considered going larger, it's just my left ear really hates to be stretched and the discomfort isn't worth it to me right now. They are both one size and content so I'm leaving it that way.

Next came my septum piercing. The day after I graduated high school, from a lovely but very strict school, I had my septum pierced. I think it's the best thing I've done for myself in a while. I've wanted it for years and it's the first thing I've done for myself no matter what anyone else thought of me. William and I simply went into the tattoo shop and had my nose pierced. Now I can wear different jewelry and I like that I can have different styles, softer and some more harsh.

Then a few weeks later, my love got his septum pierced too!

And now that I've gotten into the world of facial piercings I am itching for more. I'm really wanting a dermal anchor on my cheekbone, it would be sort of like a pretty birthmark. I know they usually reject because they're just in the top layer of skin, but I think it'd be really beautiful. I'm also considering getting a vertical labret piercing. Which is a bar that goes straight up through your lip, so the ends are at the bottom and on the top. But I'm not positive about that one yet. I also want a lot more piercings on my ears, but those aren't as pretty as the anchor or the labret.

How do you feel about Body Modification? Do you have piercings or tattoos? I'd love to hear about them.
Love and Turtledoves,
Jacqueline

  1. Yes for the anchor! I've always wanted a dermal, but I don't have the balls. The vertical labret piercing sounds neat, but super complicated, haha.

I'm ITCHING for new ink! Honestly. I want my Hogwarts Crest, my hogwarts side piece, and I think I'm going to change the placement of my 'inspiration' tattoo and get it not on my collar bone, but right above that on my shoulder. Just the more I think of it, the more I'm afraid of the rib inspiration will be almost bro ho like.

  2. I like the dermal anchor idea. :)

I want a barbell for the top of my right ear and I want to get gauges. Plus, I would have to get a second set of my regular piercings for my ears because I have a pair of earrings that I don't know how I would survive not wearing them because I made them myself. I legit wear them everyday. I may get my nose pierced too but I'm not sure.

I also really want a tattoo and blue hair. Most people at my school think that I am insane but I love body modification.
