Lazy Week

Photobucket
Today I wore the CSUF shirt I bought William, my hair wrapped up in a bandana, and pajama shorts. I got up at 6:30 to go take a test and was back home at 9. I supposed it's important to add I didn't wear the pajama shorts to school, I wore jeans. The rest of today I will be doing this week's math assignment, a little bit of German homework, and drawing more ladies! I'll also probably watch a few movies or Tudor episodes. I think I'll ponder on a few more things to sew, like a Halloween inspired Lovebot! Or maybe even a few Halloween inspired Lovebots...

This week I've been doing a lot more drawing I thought I'd share...

Big Secret.

After my last post I had realized the change I need to make to bring back my creativity. I'm going to be making big big changes to my Etsy pretty soon. Don't worry, I'll still make Lovebots. I just need a bit of a change. I wish I could tell, but I want to make it a big secret and get everything right before I tell.

A New Something

Recently I've been in a bit of a creative slump. I want to create things that I can sell and let other people enjoy, but I don't really know what to make. I'm hoping to figure out something smaller and less time consuming than a Lovebot, but maybe will be a similar? None the less I am at a loss at what I could make.

I've been drawing a lot lately, so that's been making me feel more creative. But it's not quite as fulfilling as making and selling a Lovebot. Sharing my gift with someone who appreciates it. Drawing, for me, is more of a stress killer.

I've been dreaming up a Lion plush for about a year now that I might finally get to work on. But I'd like to think of a way to incorporate it into my shop. Maybe make a new shop name and make it more general. More about me and my creations than one specific creation.

Any suggestions?

Multi Colored Nails

I remembered to paint my nails today, so I thought I'd share. I used to do rainbow nails all the time so I thought I'd do a pastely sort of group today, with white spotted tips.

I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow, Mint Sorbet, Wet Cement & White On *for the spots* and Revlon Mad About Mango (scented!) & Gum Drop (also scented!).
Incase you can't tell, these are my two favorite nail polish brands.  I think they have the best colors and go on the nicest. I prefer solid colors to shiny ones and these brands usually have colors I swoon over.

Then I got kinda goofy and became a cat.

7 Things!

I was tagged by the lovely K of Kitty Snooks to list 7 things about myself and then tag other bloggers to do the same! Thanks for tagging me, it's really sweet of you.

1. I pick things like crazy, especially when I'm anxious or thinking something over. Pick at my nail polish, or skin, or clothes, or pretty much anything I can pick at.

2. One of my favorite things to relax is to read in the bath. For some reason it's one of the only times I can get myself to read in peace and quiet.

3. Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. When I was a little girl we hardly celebrated it, but my Dad and Kathy have a HUGE Halloween party every year. This year our theme is Circus Freak Show!

4. I drive a white Honda crv.

5. I wish I could sing like Regina Spektor. I love her soft, crooney kinda sound.

6. I never used to like dogs. I'm a big cat person. However, now that I live with my Dad and I spend so much time with Daisy Dog, I totally love her. And I dream of having a pug or an English bulldog or a chihuahua.

7. I sleep with a ton of pillows. I always have a really hard sleeping, I often have nightmares or wake up anxious. So I sleep with a pillow for my head, and a pillow on each side of me so that I can cuddle one and the other cuddles me. It makes me feel safe.

Thanks again, K for tagging me!

Dreaming of Red

Recently, as some of you know, I've had a crazy obsession with red hair. Red is my favorite of all colors and I've been itching to dye it red. I've had pinkish streaks, dark burgundy hair, coppery hair, and deep red hair but never unnaturally red hair. The other problem is my hair is black right now and naturally dark brown. I also don't have the money to pay someone to lift my black out and put red in. To be honest I truly envy you blondes out there, since you don't have to bleach it to have pretty colors!

So after much pouting and searching online, I found a solution via Kaelah of Little Chief Honey Bee! She talks about how dearly she wanted light pink hair and knew her natural hair couldn't achieve such a color. So she turned to wigs! She's written some really interesting posts on hers, so I followed suit and found a beautiful dark red wig on Ebay.

I bought it from the seller Wigfashion. It was well priced and had good shipping.

So then I waited. Since my wig is from the other side of the world, I knew it would take a while. So I waited. And tried not to think about my new look. And tried not to wonder how it would look. And then, when I least expected it, my wig was home!

Isn't it absolutely lovely? I am so happy to report that it is super comfortable and once it's adjusted to where I want it, it looks pretty realistic. I can't wait to go out with it on! I am completely smitten. I would totally recommend this option for anyone who doesn't really want to, possibly, damage their hair.

I've also noticed I had to change my make up a little bit for the colors to look good. I filled my brows with a reddish brown instead of a black and put an orangey lipstick on that I hardly wear.

Would you ever buy a wig to change up your look?

What makes you happy?

Lately I have had a lot of trouble with what makes me happy, through all the stress I have been having. I'm still not used to the chance of school and have to try every day to be happy. I have to will myself to keep my chin up and enjoy my days. I deeply believe that every day is what you make of it. Any mood can be changed if that is truly what you want. I believe the mind is a very powerful thing.

I want to do more of what makes me happy, especially the little things I often get rid of when I am upset. These are the things that make me happy.

1. Skype dates with my William *Well, anything to do with my William, actually!*
2. Painting my nails rainbow colors
3. Wearing make up everyday
4. Wearing dresses and tights
5. Sewing while watching interesting shows *currently The Tudors!*
6. Cuddling my dog, Daisy
7. Day dreaming of the business I want to start soon after college
8. Writing
9. Drawing silly things
10. Preparing for Halloween! *This year I am going as a bearded lady and William will be my wolf man.*

What little things make you happy? I'd really love to know. I want to do more things that cheer me up when I'm down.

Love and Turtledoves,
Jacqueline
