Day 1.
Friday, March 11, 2011 I anxiously stood at baggage claim at the airport. I fixed my hair a million times, straightened my skirt, and checked my phone every two minutes. I bought a brand new dress to see him again: navy with white bird silhouettes. The monitor said his plane was on time but he still didn't call me. People slowly but surely started down the stairs and every dark haired man in white seemed to look like him for a brief second.
Eventually he texts me, his plane has landed and he's waiting to get out. We text a few times and then his end stops. My heart started to pound as I realized the moment was happening. We had planned his trip since December and it finally arrived. All I can remember when I saw him walk down the escalator is happiness. To finally see him in person again.
We embraced, kissed, and immediately started joking around.
My best friend and I were finally together.
I can't remember the last time I was so happy.
Once we had his luggage, we walked the long trek to my car (since I derped and parked down at the wrong terminal). We headed to Victoria Gardens, a really nice outdoor shopping center complete with cobble stone sidewalks and amazing stores, to spend our first day together. We walked around, downed rockstars, joked around, and had our first date at The Cheesecake Factory. We shared a plate of chicken medallions with white rice, snow peas, asparagus, and tomatoes.
Every time he looked at me I blushed. His eyes are so light brown they are nearly green. I've never seen eyes like them before. All day William looked me in the eyes and told me how much I meant to him. I blushed every time. His eyes always told me how much I meant to him.
As the sun went down and the string lights of the mall lit up, we held hands and reconnected. We laughed for hours, walked through countless shops, and eventually went back up to my town. I dropped him off at his hotel room after he checked in and off I went home. After barely talking on the phone, we passed out and barely slept before Day 2.
Love and Turtledoves,
Jacqueline
