My last few weeks have been really very nice. My break ended Monday, we returned to the grind stone. My thoughts have been heavily on yearbook, since our first deadline is this month. We need to finish close to seventy or eighty pages by the 28th (ish) and it's slow going. I have confidence in my team and in myself, it's just nerve racking. Especially because that week, I believe, is my school's spirit week.
We have a four day week of themed costume days, for example we've had superhero day, hobo day, game day, and fairytale day in past years. The entire high school parades around in their costumes and receive spirit points for skits, games, and decorating a section of the fence. At the end of the week, whichever class has the most spirit points get their name engraved on our school's sword, because we're the Warriors which is a knight. Basically it's a really big deal.
Freshmen year, Superhero Day. I was Mighty Mouse.
From blue and gold day last year. Warrior pride!
Then at the end of spirit week is the homecoming basketball game, since we are without football team, and then the homecoming dance the following night. It's pretty much the most enjoyable and important week of the school year. Hopefully I won't be completely brain dead by the time we're done.
January is going to be a beautiful month, especially because we have the next few Mondays off. It's going to be full of fun and cheering and hopefully getting the yearbook put together. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll win senior queen too, I was princess sophomore year! Don't believe me?
Bam!
Here's a better one, I don't have any of me with my crown or sash though.
I think 2011 is going to be a good year.
Love and Turtledoves,
Jacqueline
the detailing at the top of your dress in that bottom photo is super pretty! I love spirit week too, I wish my school got into it as much as yours does!
ReplyDeleteI miss spirit week! We have it (kinda) but people are dumb and don't participate. You're dances look so much more fun than ours.
