I am totally ready for Halloween!! The, sort of, fall weather here has made me realize Halloween is only a little over a month. At my dad's house, we have elaborate Halloween parties that are themed. This years theme is Wild Wild West, so Donny and I have decided to be American Indians. :)))
So yesterday I found a red/brown plain dress at the Salvation Army, hurray it was like 3 dollars. And today I hemmed it, so it's a little above the knee, and added some gold fringe to the hem. I also cut the scoop neck into a short "v", I don't want it too low since I'm might wear it to the school Harvest Festival too. The next few weeks I'm going to buy some more gold trims and red trims maybe green to add some bling and fun to my dress.
I also used the large amount of fabric I cut off to make a braided headband. I'll also be adding some beaded trim or gold trim to add some fun to that, as well as a feather that will stick up!
My only problem right now is I don't have any boots or moccasins. I want some cute ones but don't want to spend a lot of money, since I might not wear them too often. I've also thought about making some boot covers instead, buuuuut I'm not sure if I will.
Do any of you guys love Halloween as much as I do? It's like my favorite holiday. :D What are you guys gonna be for Halloween!?
Love and Turtledoves,
Jaco

Sounds like somebody struck gold! Nothing like finding a halloween costume for less. I have been thinking about what I am going to be ever since last halloween ended, I still DONT KNOW!?! How sad. I actually thought a garden gnome [a cute one] would be precious :)
ReplyDeleteLove that you two will be Indians. How cute! Ryan and I are excited about Halloween too! You'll have to wait and see what Ryan is doing for the party - it was my idea. ;) I'll probably be what every other girl is doing - can can or saloon girl. Can't wait to see you there! Good luck with the shoes. I think boot covers will be fine. I'm loving that you're crafty!!
ReplyDeleteI'm ready for fall too...yummy warm too...boots and tights (which I am yet to buy!) and halloween! I'm excited for Halloween craft!
